Biodiversity Planning

London

Wildlife habitat can be destroyed by development.

Habitat loss, and the corresponding loss of biodiversity, does not have to continue. To protect urban ecosystems planning authorities provide conditions for developers to adhere. Designing using native species of trees and hedges, meadows and green roofs, bird boxes demonstrates ecological awareness. In an urban setting one may have to be careful, for example placing a flower meadow in with other planting could take away from the contemporary linear style you may need to connect with the modern architecture. Designing a garden is to some degree solving various logistical questions car park, seating area, but it is the style of a garden that provides its essence and it is the relationship of the garden to its setting this requires balance and harmony as this is where a garden gets its feeling from.
